Maharashtra government has already given a green signal to the US based firm for developing a on ground passenger service between Mumbai and Pune that could travel at the speed of sound, well almost.

An intent agreement was already signed in February 2019 itself to build a commuting system between Pune and Mumbai that reduces the existing travel time from 3 hours to 20 minutes. The proposed hyperloop will connect Mumbai and Pune and will pass through Navi Mumbai airport. The agreement was signed in the presence of the Prime minister Narendra Modi and the chief minister Devendra Fadnivis.

The feasibility study of the same is in progress and will require six months to complete post which the construction of the test track will start in 2019 and be completed by 2021. Post the successful testing the permanent track building would require a time of 4 years to build.
