Brief Profile

Dr. Sudhakara. A, pursued his PhD in 2010 from Kuvempu University, Shankaraghatta – Shivamogga, India. He continued his Postdoctoral Research in Nanotribology Centre, on “Nanoparticle Based Oil Lubricants” about two years with under supervision of Prof. S.K Biswas Department of Mechanical Engineering at Indian Institute of Science-Bengaluru, India.He worked as a Research Associate and Team Head in Bio-Organics and Applied Materials Pvt Ltd, Peenya Bengaluru.
He has been heading the Department of Chemistry at RRCE from Aug 2017.
In his research carrier he focused on the interdisciplinary areas of chemistry and material science that included Synthesis of Various Nanoparticle based oil Lubricants, Dynamic Light Scattering studies, Raman Spectroscopic operation,Synthetic Organic, Plant Extraction and biological studies and corrosion chemistry. He has the credentials of having papers published in high impact journals, posters and oral presentations in many conferences and he Published 16 Papers and 2 Books. He is member of the various journals like BEI-ESP, Medicinal Chemistry Research (Springer),Asian Journal of organic and Medicinal Chemistry, Member -International Society for Development and Sustainability(membership ID is: M171931),Japan.

Overview: Department of Chemistry has started in the year 2006. The Department is teaching Applied Chemistry at the first-year level of all branches of Engineering courses. The VTU curriculum is designed according to the requirements of all the branches of Engineering. The department has well equipped laboratory. The Department now comprises of 4 well qualified, experienced and dedicated faculty members. Currently students are pursuing part time Ph.D programme.
