Introduction:
This report details an industrial visit to the heritage city of Channapatna, undertaken to explore the historical and cultural significance of the city’s architectural landmarks, industrial legacy, and traditional craftsmanship practices, providing valuable insights into the city’s evolution and its current efforts towards preserving its heritage while promoting sustainable development.
Objectives:
• To gain a comprehensive understanding of the city’s historical context and architectural styles.
• To observe traditional crafts and industries still practiced in the heritage zone.
• Analyze the challenges and strategies employed in preserving the city’s heritage amidst modern development.
• To identify potential opportunities for sustainable tourism development within the heritage city.
